I have been receiving braincells since shortly after I joined the International Union of Mail Artists

I had been a clueless mail artist who sent mail art to my friends and didn’t know it was a thing. When I joined the community of mail art that IUOMA opened up to me (as well as mailart 365, an initiative I also participated in and completed, although I am not in the completers list!)

it was an endless source of creative input and experimentation and a mecca of provocation.
These days I am a lapsed mail artist. This is because I am a full-time painter now

and I am constantly heading to the hospital for blood tests and that has interrupted my flow! Don’t worry. I will be fine, but in all seriousness, knowing that time is not necessarily elastic has made me focus on what I need to do and at the moment mail art doesn’t fall into that bucket.
So, it was exciting to receive Braincell 1193 even though I haven’t sent a stamp to Ryosuke Cohen in years. Maybe I will.
