mailart from a cosy nest
I have been cleaning up my ‘rats nest’ of a studio today. It’s mostly untidy but it was more chaotic than usual. I have a multitude of excuses, but none of that matters. What matters is that this beautiful piece of mail art languished in my blogging pile, unopened for months and now that I have opened it, I am utterly shamed.
Catherine, what a beautiful offering and please accept my apologies for such a long gap between sending it to me and me acknowledging it!
Catherine wrote me a note putting herself in context. She is one of my femail correspondents and she lives near Gerda, the mastermind of the group. Catherine has been dying cloth and I am the lucky recipient of a piece of it, made into a bag. Apparently her studio walls are covered with rust dyed cloth and that gives the impression of a ‘nest’. I love that image and juxtapose it with me in my chaos.
I hope the heaters kept you warm and that spring is springing.
